SEALSQ Launches "Convergence" Initiative Integrating AI, Quantum Tech, and Digital Identity Solutions
SEALSQ Corp (NASDAQ: LAES) launched the “Convergence” initiative, a program developed to combine its advanced technological efforts into a cohesive roadmap. This initiative includes efforts in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), tokenization, and secure Satellite Communications (Satcom).
Central to Convergence is WISeSat, a secure satellite communication technology supporting Internet of Things (IoT) applications. This subsidiary of WISeKey International Holding Ltd operates a network of 22 satellites, enabling global connectivity for IoT devices and digital identity applications while addressing quantum threats through a space-based trust infrastructure.
Convergence aligns with SEALSQ’s Quantum Roadmap, anticipating the potential challenges posed by quantum computing. By integrating AI-driven automation, decentralized identities, and WISeSat's secure infrastructure, SEALSQ aims to establish a resilient digital trust architecture that facilitates secure interactions among people, devices, and systems globally.
The initiative responds to current technological threats and needs. SEALSQ recognized that quantum computing could jeopardize encryption methods, thus embedding PQC across its products. Furthermore, ensuring secure data for AI systems and advancing digital identity capabilities remain integral components of the program.
SEALSQ’s collaboration with startups and partners is also part of this initiative, as outlined during the SEALSQ Quantum Days event. This engagement fosters practical deployments of Convergence technologies across various sectors including healthcare, security, and digital identity.
Several use cases highlight SEALSQ's ongoing applications. For instance, secure chips enhance Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) in healthcare, while WISeKey's technologies secure over 1.6 billion devices globally, including those used in connected vehicles and smart infrastructure.
“With Convergence, we unify AI, quantum resilience, satellites, digital identity, tokenization, and our Root of Trust capabilities into one architecture,” Carlos Moreira, CEO of SEALSQ, stated. The initiative reflects SEALSQ's overarching effort to create a robust digital economy grounded in trust.
