SEALSQ begins commercial rollout of Miraex quantum photonics after June 2026 acquisition

SEALSQ Corp began the commercial phase of Miraex SA’s quantum photonics technology after completing a 100% acquisition of the Swiss company in June 2026. The move placed Miraex within SEALSQ’s broader work on secure semiconductor hardware and quantum-focused networking, with an emphasis on commercial deployment.

SEALSQ said the acquisition became a step in its strategy for a “Quantum Sovereign Vertical Stack,” described as integrating secure semiconductor hardware, post-quantum cryptography, quantum communications, quantum networking, and quantum computing. The company said it financed the transaction through its $200 million Quantum Fund and that the fund had deployed more than $65 million into strategic quantum technology investments.

Miraex’s technology uses a Thin Film Lithium Tantalate Photonic Integrated Circuit (TFLT PIC) platform. SEALSQ said the platform converts quantum information between microwave frequencies associated with superconducting quantum processors and optical frequencies used for long-distance quantum communications.

The commercial rollout initially targeted Distributed Quantum Computing (DQC), Quantum Networking, Quantum Sensing, and Quantum Orbital Space Cloud (QOSC). Carlos Moreira, Chairman and CEO of SEALSQ, said, “This marks SEALSQ's transition from breakthrough research to commercial deployment,” and added, “Miraex closes the quantum interconnect layer of our Quantum Sovereign Vertical Stack, the one piece the industry cannot scale without, and we now own it outright, acquired and funded through our $200 million Quantum Fund.”

SEALSQ also included forward-looking statements about expected business strategy and operating results and said it did not undertake to update those statements.
