Scality offers $100,000 ARTESCA cyber guarantee

Scality introduced the ARTESCA Cyber Guarantee, a $100,000 financial payout to any customer whose immutably stored ARTESCA data was destroyed or encrypted by an external cyberattack.

The company framed the guarantee as an accessible option for the mid-market and said it applied to every ARTESCA customer subject to clear eligibility rules and current software maintenance, without a requirement to purchase a special support or services contract.

Scality linked the guarantee to recent product work, citing the ARTESCA 4.1 release and the subsequent ARTESCA 4.1.3 update that added enhanced certificate and trust management, improved replication capabilities, and expanded support for immutable object protection through Object Lock.

The offer built on CORE5 cyber resiliency features and applied to commercial ARTESCA licenses; qualifying deployments required a minimum 50 Throughput Benchmark (TB) license, ARTESCA v4.1.3 or higher, ongoing updates, storage of protected data using S3 Object Lock in compliance mode, and adherence to recommended configuration and deployment practices.

“Customers count on ARTESCA to ensure their backup data remains safe, recoverable, and tamper-proof even under the most extreme conditions,” said Jérôme Lecat, CEO of Scality. “With this cyber guarantee, we’re putting our money where our architecture is. It’s a simple, direct promise that reflects the confidence we have in ARTESCA’s cyber resilience.”

The offer was subject to eligibility requirements and terms defined in the ARTESCA EULA, and additional details were provided in the ARTESCA Cyber Guarantee FAQs.
