Scality and OVHcloud expand partnership for joint sovereign storage platform

Scality and OVHcloud expanded their technology partnership and set up a joint storage platform aimed at European digital sovereignty. The companies said the arrangement gives organizations data control without relying on U.S. hyperscalers while providing performance and resilience for AI workloads.

The partnership was presented as a response to business needs tied to sensitive data handling and private infrastructure for intensive artificial intelligence workloads. The platforms were described as supporting data localization and control within a regulatory environment that includes European GDPR, DORA, NIS2, and HIPAA for the U.S.

The joint offering combined Scality storage functions with OVHcloud OPCP and additional storage options on OVHcloud Bare Metal. Scality RING and Scality ARTESCA were described as providing massive, resilient, S3-compatible object storage on customer on-premises infrastructure, while OPCP was described as adding cloud-native orchestration, a managed services catalog, and deployment automation.

The deployment model included a 100% dedicated sovereign cloud option and on-premises deployment through OVHcloud OPCP, with backup replication across multiple availability zones (multi-AZ).
