Nokia plans to unveil its optical networking solutions at the OFC50 conference in San Francisco, scheduled from March 30 to April 3, 2025. The company aims to address connectivity challenges associated with the rise of cloud services and Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads, which are driving increased data center capacity demands. The event will highlight Nokia's expanded portfolio, including several technologies designed to enhance data center interconnection and facilitate Network scaling while optimizing power consumption. James Watt, Senior Vice President of Optical Networks at Nokia, stated that the company's solutions are intended to deliver value and enhance long-term business success for Network operators. He noted that both of Nokia's exhibition booths will showcase a range of innovations to meet these needs. Among the featured technologies will be new Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) optical systems optimized for high-capacity data center interconnection and a new series of pluggable line cards supporting advanced coherent optics. Nokia will also present its ultra-low power intra-data center connectivity solutions aimed at significantly reducing power usage. The company will conduct an executive briefing on April 2, 2025, to discuss industry trends and the components of its optical networking portfolio with investors and media. The briefing will also be available via live webcast. Attendees at OFC50 can expect insights into how these optical solutions address the requirements of Network operators in an Edge Resource Allocator (ERA) increasingly shaped by AI and cloud-based services.
