Nokia partners with Empyrion Digital for KR1 Gangnam Data Center

Nokia partnered with Empyrion Digital to support the KR1 Gangnam Data Center in Seoul, South Korea. This collaboration will enhance data center connectivity and operational capabilities within the region.

The deployment will utilize Nokia’s data center gateway and aggregation switches, which are intended to improve reliability and scalability. This move aims to address rising data traffic demands faced by digital infrastructure providers throughout Asia.

Empyrion Digital, known for developing data centers that bolster digital ecosystems, emphasized the significance of this partnership. Yongsuk Choi, Chief Strategy Officer at Empyrion, noted the advantages of Nokia's robust solutions and their regional supply chain in facilitating network enhancements. Choi stated, “We are excited to partner with Nokia to use their data center solutions to provide a world-class network performance to our hyperscalers and enterprise customers in Korea.”

Nokia's offer includes the 7250 Interconnect Router and 7210 Service Access System, which will serve as access switches to improve the overall operational efficiency of Empyrion's interconnect network. Kent Wong, Vice President at Nokia, commented on the value of their Data Center Fabric solution, asserting its capability to manage growing data traffic effectively.

This initiative reflects a strategic approach to meeting the evolving demands of the digital infrastructure landscape, fostering potential expansions beyond just Korea.
