Netskope details NewEdge AI Fast Path latency reductions
Netskope said it delivered performance results for NewEdge AI Fast Path, a feature in its NewEdge private cloud network. The update centers on reducing network latency for AI traffic and minimizing time to first token for AI workflows that send multiple prompts to AI destinations.
Netskope framed the change around infrastructure and operations leaders’ concerns about meeting network performance, resilience, and security demands tied to AI. It said the approach combines extensive peering with continuous, automated route optimization to reduce latency without relying on the public internet or third-party infrastructure.
According to the company, AI Fast Path optimizes network paths between users, sites, and agents to AI destinations. In testing using real-world traffic on the NewEdge global network, Netskope reported latency reductions of as much as 90% to popular AI destinations. It also said the system accounts for AI-specific measurements including TTFT, sustained token generation rate, TPOT, and the portion of AI latency linked to network roundtrip time.
Netskope said NewEdge consists of more than 120 data centers across over 80 regions, designed to deliver Netskope services including Netskope One SASE and Netskope One AI Security. It reported that NewEdge maintains more than 12,000 network adjacencies to over 750 autonomous system numbers and that AI Fast Path is available to customers as part of the Netskope One platform, using Route Control to analyze tens of millions of routes daily and automatically shift traffic when a better path becomes available. “Netskope's optimizations strip away network overhead associated with AI, which compounds as traffic shifts from simple inference to complex agentic workflows,” said Frank Dickson, Group Vice President, Security & Trust, IDC. “By eliminating latency, NewEdge AI Fast Path also protects against costly GPUs sitting idle, wasting money, and creating compute bottlenecks.”
Netskope said Route Control reroutes around disruptions, including internet traffic spikes, congestion-related ISP connectivity failures such as fiber cuts, and AI provider infrastructure or cloud outages.
