MinIO adds NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX support for AIStor

MinIO said it added support for NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX security architecture for its AIStor object storage and MemKV context memory capabilities. The move links security controls with data movement along an end-to-end AI data path that runs from persistent object storage to in-context GPU memory.

The release places the announcement in an “AI factory” model where autonomous agents continuously reason, retrieve, and act on enterprise data. MinIO described storage as part of how agents access data and enforce security at the S3 layer, while NVIDIA referenced object-storage security as a way to protect integrity, privacy, and the value of AI-driven outcomes.

Technically, MinIO described a pipeline from persistent object storage to context memory and then into GPUs, with each data movement subject to NVIDIA DOCA security enforcement. It said MemKV removes a recompute tax that can reduce GPU utilization, using a shared context memory tier built on petabytes of NVMe flash, while AIStor Tables handle structured and unstructured data through a single S3 interface and governance model, built on Apache Iceberg V3.

MinIO and NVIDIA also described using NVIDIA DOCA Vault with NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX to address exposed layers in the AI data path, extending enforcement to the S3 object layer. “The AI factory runs on data, and that data lives in object storage,” said AB Periasamy, co-founder and CEO, MinIO. “AIStor and MemKV form the only complete, secure data path from persistent object storage to in-context GPU memory. With NVIDIA DOCA and NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX, every byte moving through that path is protected in silicon.” In a second quote, Jason Hardy, vice president, Storage Technologies at NVIDIA, said, “In the agentic AI factory, data is the foundation of intelligence, making security within object storage essential to protecting the integrity, privacy, and value of AI-driven outcomes,” adding that “MinIO AIStor, NVIDIA DOCA Vault, and NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX together establish a secure data fabric for agentic AI factories, enabling enterprises and sovereign clouds to safeguard critical data while scaling trusted AI with performance and efficiency.”

MinIO said it plans to extend secure enforcement across the S3 object layer as part of the secure AI data path for NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX, with AIStor and MemKV supporting object delivery and context memory for GPU execution.
