Micas Networks said it expanded its company-operated manufacturing operations in Malaysia to support clean-room work and production activities for co-packaged optics (CPO) Ethernet systems. The change was positioned as a way to move advanced optical networking systems from design into production.
The company said the Malaysia expansion was intended to strengthen clean-room capability, advanced system assembly, optical integration, and automated test and validation for complex AI Ethernet platforms. Micas also stated the expansion supported its commercially available CPO deployments.
Micas said it continued to operate its own manufacturing facility in Malaysia rather than relying entirely on outsourced manufacturing. It described the updated capability as covering CPO assembly and optical integration, along with advanced automation, thermal validation, and system-level test, with engineering and manufacturing managed under one operating model.
Micas said its M2-W6940-128X1-FR4 switch, based on the Broadcom Tomahawk 5 Bailly platform, is one of the company’s first commercially available 51.2 Tbps CPO Ethernet switches. The company stated the switch was integrated with optical engines and switch ASIC to provide 128 ports of 400G FR4 connectivity, and it said delivery is available through Supermicro as part of Supermicro-validated configurations that include AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs with AMD Pensando Pollara 400 AI NICs. “Micas is an American company built to turn advanced networking innovation into infrastructure customers can deploy,” said Andrew Qu, Chief Executive Officer of Micas Networks.
