Micas Networks, an AI networking company headquartered in San Jose, California, has detailed a portfolio of three open Ethernet switch platforms for AI factories. The lineup is designed to give operators more choice as their networks move toward higher bandwidth.
The portfolio is aimed at hyperscalers, neocloud providers, and AI infrastructure operators seeking more options in network design. Micas plans to show the systems at the 2026 OCP Global Summit, which runs October 12 through 15 in San Jose. The offering is presented as a route from 800G equipment to 1.6T without reliance on a closed, vertically integrated networking stack.
The first platform is a 4RU, air-cooled 800G switch with 128 OSFP ports and 102.4 Tbps of switching capacity. It is built on the Broadcom BCM78910 Tomahawk 6P switch ASIC and designed for high-radix AI fabrics in standard 19-inch data center environments. A second model is a 2RU, liquid-cooled 1.6T system with 64 OSFP ports and the same switching capacity, intended for high-density AI racks.
The third platform is a 1RU co-packaged optics system with 64 1.6T MMC DR8 optical interfaces, 102.4 Tbps of switching capacity, and 200G SerDes technology. The Tomahawk 6 - Davisson CPO architecture is intended to improve bandwidth density, power efficiency, and link stability. The portfolio also supports open networking architectures and SONiC-based networking.
The portfolio builds on a multi-generation relationship with Broadcom covering Ethernet silicon, CPO system design, and open networking. Micas began developing and manufacturing CPO systems in 2023 and became the first system provider to commercialize a switch based on Broadcom's Tomahawk 5-Bailly CPO technology. The Davisson platform extends that work to 102.4 Tbps switching and 200G SerDes.
“AI infrastructure operators should be able to choose how they build, scale, and operate their networks,” said Andrew Qu, CEO of Micas Networks. Production of the 2RU liquid-cooled and 4RU air-cooled platforms is scheduled to begin in Q4 2026, and production of the 1RU CPO platform is scheduled to begin in Q1 2027.
