LayerX Security supports OpenAI’s new agentic Atlas browser
LayerX Security announced its role as the first browser security company to support OpenAI’s new agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) browser, ChatGPT Atlas. This development signifies LayerX’s strategy to address security concerns in the evolving digital landscape driven by AI technology.
As AI continues to change user interactions with digital platforms, browsers have become critical interfaces for accessing AI tools, including assistants and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications. OpenAI’s ChatGPT Atlas introduces an agentic AI browsing experience, enabling tasks to be executed on behalf of users while enhancing the function of browsers in AI engagement.
Or Eshed, CEO of LayerX Security, stated, “It is clear that the future belongs to AI browsers. Atlas marks the ‘iPhone moment’ of the browser industry... and will define the future of workspace security and productivity, and of how AI is consumed by users.”
LayerX's 2025 AI and SaaS Data Security Report indicated that 45% of enterprise users now utilize AI tools on corporate devices, with ChatGPT leading the market with a 92% share. However, the report also highlighted a rise in data leakage via AI tools, noting that 40% of uploaded files and 22% of text submitted contained sensitive information.
The LayerX browser extension provides visibility and control over user activity with SaaS and AI applications, covering authentication, file transfers, and more, ensuring a streamlined user experience. LayerX supports major browser platforms while also backing the latest AI browsers, including its prior support for Comet and Dia.
The integration with ChatGPT Atlas allows businesses to implement comprehensive data protection and AI usage policies within their environments, providing necessary security for the new generation of AI applications.
LayerX is recognized by Gartner as a Representative Vendor in both Secure Enterprise Browser and AI Usage Control categories, reflecting its capacity to deliver security focused on AI integration in browser activities.
David Vaisbrud, CTO of LayerX, mentioned, “With the advent of AI browsers like Atlas, the boundary between browsing and AI is disappearing. LayerX is proud to secure that boundary, empowering enterprises to adopt AI safely.”
