JumpCloud Inc. appoints Roland Palmer as CISO
JumpCloud Inc. appointed Roland Palmer as chief information security officer and vice president of security to lead its global security strategy and to protect the company’s large, global employee and customer base.
JumpCloud said Palmer’s technical background factored into the appointment as the company scales its cloud-based infrastructure and seeks to address complex security and compliance requirements for a growing list of global organizations.
The company described its platform as an AI-powered unified IT management solution that consolidated identity, device, and access management and that scaled from human users to autonomous Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents; JumpCloud also said its internal Security Operations (SecOps) needed to remain aligned with the unified platform it provided to customers.
Palmer brought more than 20 years of experience and had served as vice president of security and compliance at Sumo Logic for eight years, where he led global SecOps and integrated compliance into engineering workflows; he was appointed to oversee JumpCloud’s global security program.
“Trust is the bedrock of intelligent, secure IT,” said Greg Keller, co-founder and chief technology officer, JumpCloud. “Roland's track record of building transparent, proof-driven security programs is world-class. He doesn't just manage risk; he integrates it into the fabric of the product. His leadership ensures that as we innovate, we are providing the most secure and compliant foundation possible for our customers.” “Identity and device trust are the most consequential problems in security today,” said Palmer. “I've admired JumpCloud's thoughtful approach to these challenges for years. The company's vision aligns with my own: intelligent, secure IT must be opinionated where it matters, yet simple and grounded in how teams actually operate. I look forward to deepening the trust our customers place in us as we scale.”
JumpCloud described plans to scale its platform further and to deepen the trust customers place in the company.
