JumpCloud Inc. extended its Agentic IAM capabilities to manage AI agents alongside human employees and devices. The update addresses identity governance for agents that perform tasks, adding visibility and control over who owns agent access and how access is handled.
JumpCloud said IT teams need governance controls for AI agents as agents handle more company tasks. The company framed the challenge as tracking which agents exist, identifying ownership, recording where agents run, and determining when to remove access.
The platform manages AI agents across visibility and ownership, identity and access control, and governance and privileged access. JumpCloud said it ties agents to a human owner and tracks agents from creation to retirement. It also connects agent logins to automated tasks and applies privileged access management so agent permissions are temporary and expire when tasks complete.
JumpCloud described additional capabilities within lifecycle management, including AI Agent Identity & Access for unique agent identities, and a “Shadow AI to Secure MCP Connection” workflow to find MCP setups and route them through the JumpCloud AI Gateway. It also said it would enforce approved SaaS access and introduce a “PAM MCP Server” to replace shared API keys, with availability planned before the end of Q4 2026.
