IP Fabric Partners With Illumio on Application Context and Network Behavior
IP Fabric said it partnered with Illumio to connect application and workload context with a validated view of network and cloud behavior. The collaboration focused on addressing how application understanding is split across network, application, and security tools, affecting connectivity visibility.
The organizations stated that modern applications run across hybrid environments and that teams often operate with separate information sources. They said the gap occurs when stakeholders know what the network permits or what workload-level policy enforces, but do not have a single view of how controls work together for an application.
IP Fabric said it worked to close the gap by correlating application context from Illumio with observed network behavior. It said the resulting capabilities were intended to help customers understand application dependencies and determine whether network, cloud, or workload-level controls affected connectivity, without replacing existing application monitoring or security investments.
The collaboration covered technical development and go-to-market programs, including support for troubleshooting connectivity problems faster, understanding application dependencies, assessing potential impact from network changes, and validating that segmentation policy aligned with actual network and cloud behavior. “Enterprises have invested heavily in understanding their applications and network, but the truth remains fragmented across teams and tools,” said Pavel Bykov, CEO of IP Fabric. “IP Fabric and Illumio have the technology and expertise to change that. By connecting application and workload context with validated network and cloud behavior, we intend to give enterprises something they have never had before: a trustworthy, end-to-end understanding of how their most critical applications are connected, controlled and affected by change.” “Workload segmentation is most effective when organizations understand it in the context of the complete infrastructure path,” said Todd Palmer, senior vice president of global partner sales and alliances at Illumio. “By bringing together Illumio’s application and workload intelligence with IP Fabric’s deep understanding of network and cloud behavior, we can help customers better understand how their critical applications communicate and where security controls should be applied. This insight gives teams great confidence to make changes, reduce risk, and keep applications running securely.” Additional details, including availability, were to be announced later.
