IP Fabric made its ServiceNow CMDB integration available in the ServiceNow Marketplace, providing a way to compare CMDB data with network data derived from IP Fabric’s network digital twin. The update addresses differences between CMDB contents and network reality that can affect operational spending and compliance reporting.

The integration focuses on CMDB accuracy for network management teams and tools. The release said CMDBs can diverge from network reality by 20-40%, leaving unmanaged devices, connections, and configurations untracked, which can increase operational and capital expenditures and pose regulatory compliance risk.

IP Fabric’s approach uses read-only access to map device, connection, and configuration information from core to edge to cloud. The integration imports data from IP Fabric into ServiceNow CMDB, compares it against CMDB contents, and reports discrepancies such as devices that appear only in IP Fabric, only in ServiceNow, or in both with differences. It also calculates a trust score reflecting overlap between the CMDB and the network digital twin.

The release said customers could download the ServiceNow integration through the ServiceNow Marketplace. Pavel Bykov, co-founder and CEO of IP Fabric, said, “Network security, operations, and compliance teams have long struggled with the effects of poor CMDB accuracy, ranging from unnecessary operational expenses to heightened security and regulatory compliance risks,” said Pavel Bykov, co-founder and CEO of IP Fabric. “IP Fabric offers an easy solution to this problem by building a digital twin of your network from end-to-end. This digital twin can be used to validate the contents of your ServiceNow CMDB against your network’s actual state and behavior.” Forward-looking statements were not included.
