Atos completed an internal, large-scale Digital Workplace transformation for Orange Business, a milestone in one of Orange Business’s most significant global IT outsourcing initiatives.
Under a seven-year contract signed in early 2024, Atos supported Orange Business in transforming its internal workplace services across a global footprint of nearly 30,000 users in more than 60 countries. The effort, carried out over a two-year migration period, was the first initiative of this scale to externalize Digital Workplace services within Orange Business.
At the core sits a unified IT Service Management platform built on ServiceNow, which consolidated earlier processes into a single global operating model. The program, called MyDesk, gives employees one digital workplace portal for support, incident management, device requests, and a global service catalog. Support combines centralized service desks with aligned local capabilities, including on-site tech bars, alongside several AI-based offers.
The transformation posed a significant operational challenge, with processes largely redesigned from scratch. The rollout proceeded in successive stages, beginning in France, moving to major service centers, then extending to the remaining countries. This phased approach allowed service continuity to be maintained while the model scaled globally. A dedicated sovereign support model has been implemented for specific user populations with sensitive use cases.
According to the companies, consolidating legacy support chains into one standardized model improved operational visibility, incident resolution times, and service responsiveness across all geographies. Carbon reporting measures emissions tied to services and devices, and Green IT practices extend equipment lifespan. “We are proud to have supported Orange Business in this unprecedented transformation,” said Marc Lachaize, head of digital workplace, Atos France.
“Together with Atos, we have successfully built a unified and seamless Digital Workplace for Orange Business across our global footprint, based on market standards and providing a strong foundation for future innovation,” said Emmanuel Berre, head of Orange Business digital workspace. Through ongoing workshops, the companies are examining how generative artificial intelligence could support service quality, process automation, and new user experiences within MyDesk, though those capabilities remain under evaluation.
