Gremlin, founded by Amazon and Netflix engineers who pioneered Chaos Engineering, said it reached general availability for Gremlin Foresight AI. The company positioned the release as a way to identify and address reliability risks before they become incidents.
Gremlin Foresight AI followed a successful beta and was described as proving it could identify and address reliability risks ahead of incidents for mission-critical production systems. The company said the approach supported reliability testing practices intended to help engineering teams verify that fixes remain effective over time.
The system was described as built on Gremlin’s proprietary Failure Atlas, which incorporates more than a decade of cause-and-effect data about how online systems fail. It was also described as validating each fix against the originating test that surfaced the risk, with continuous validation that reruns the test as systems change.
Gremlin said Gremlin Foresight AI includes proactive risk detection, guided remediation through a configuration patch or an infrastructure-as-code change, and continuous validation. The platform was also described as enabling planned experiments, controlling the blast radius, and using continuous automated testing, with reliability scores used to track improvements across services and teams. “AI-driven development means shipping code at 10X velocity; it also means 10x the opportunity for bugs, risks, and failures,” said Kolton Andrus, CEO and Founder of Gremlin.
