Domo launches Agent Catalyst for autonomous AI solutions
Domo has announced the launch of Agent Catalyst, a feature introduced at Domopalooza 2025, aimed at enabling the creation of autonomous Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents for businesses. Built on Domo AI’s secure platform, Agent Catalyst provides organizations with tools to automate complex workflows and enhance decision-making.
According to Josh James, founder and CEO of Domo, Agent Catalyst allows AI to grow alongside organizations, stating, “Unlike AI assistants that require direct human prompting and guidance, AI agents built with Agent Catalyst operate independently.” This development addresses the challenges businesses face due to the abundance of data and the need for reliable processes, giving users the ability to build intelligent agents that enhance operations.
The four-step process for users to create agents involves selecting a Large Language Model (LLM), providing instructions, connecting knowledge sources, and assigning tools. Enhancements within the Agent Catalyst framework include the secure DomoGPT, capabilities for managing unstructured data, tools for understanding data relationships, and simplified development tools for creating custom AI solutions.
Industry feedback highlights the value of Agent Catalyst in streamlining AI-driven solutions. Rob Toro, a managing partner at 7Rivers, noted a reduction in implementation time and improved outcomes, while Patrick Buell from Hakkoda emphasized the ease of deploying agentic workflows without extensive development resources. The initiative marks a significant step for Domo in providing businesses with the tools necessary to efficiently leverage AI systems.
The company is extending related AI capabilities across its platform, enhancing features to automate data analysis and generate insights in real-time, supporting businesses in adopting AI technologies effectively.
