Digital Realty said it plans to develop a new cable landing station at its LAX12 data center in Los Angeles, working with Assured Communications. The initiative is intended to support the integration of subsea and terrestrial networks within Digital Realty’s Los Angeles footprint.
According to the company, the CLS is designed to connect subsea landing activity with interconnection and colocation resources available across Digital Realty’s Los Angeles campus. The project is in development and is expected to begin supporting cables in 2028.
Digital Realty said the station is intended to provide subsea cable operators with a turnkey solution for landing and powering their systems. The plan also includes enabling access to networks, cloud providers, and carriers through interconnection with terrestrial networks and colocation within Digital Realty’s platform.
