Daily Intelligence Brief: SEALSQ Corp, Aqua Security, Advantech - July 8, 2025

SEALSQ Corp raised its Quantum Investment Fund from $20 million to over $35 million, targeting enhancements in Post-Quantum cybersecurity solutions. The funding aims to integrate Quantum and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), edge security, and secure identity infrastructure.

The strategy focuses on building a Quantum-safe technology stack. SEALSQ plans to strengthen its cybersecurity framework across multiple layers by focusing on Quantum-Resistant Cryptography, custom-designed Quantum-Ready Semiconductors, secure satellite communication infrastructure, and blockchain-enabled digital identity solutions.

In collaboration with WISeKey International Holding Ltd, SEALSQ invested approximately $12 million in a Post-Quantum Semiconductor Center in Spain, developing essential chips. Other investments include a $3.5 million stake in WeCan Group and a $14.7 million acquisition of IC'Alps. SEALSQ also allocated $10 million to deploy Post-Quantum-secured communication satellites, enhancing critical infrastructure encryption.

Aqua Security launched the Trivy Partner Connect Program to expand its Trivy vulnerability scanner ecosystem. This program engages commercial vendors, including inaugural partners Echo and Minimus, which aim to provide secure image solutions to Trivy users.

The program is designed to create a framework for partners to collaborate and enhance the user experience with Trivy while supporting open source development. Trivy currently has over 27,000 GitHub stars and 100 million annual downloads, reflecting its position in the open source security community.

The partnership with Echo allows for the delivery of vulnerability-free images, while Minimus focuses on minimal container and Virtual Machine (VM) images to reduce vulnerabilities early in development. Trivy Partner Connect includes three tiers: Certified, Core, and Advisor, facilitating different partnership needs.

Advantech introduced edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) compute solutions, including AOM-6731, AIMB-293, and SOM-6820, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite platform. These solutions are targeted at industrial applications requiring robust processing and integrated AI acceleration.

Equipped with Snapdragon's Central Processing Unit (CPU) configurations, these products operate at speeds up to 3.4GHz, achieving a 28% reduction in power consumption compared to x86 architectures. They feature advanced LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage for higher data transfer rates.

The multimedia capabilities support full 4K video encoding and improved graphics. Connectivity features include integrated 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) and 5G technologies, supporting high-speed networking crucial for AI applications. The solutions are set for engineering evaluations beginning in March 2025.
