Crusoe said it is developing Google’s data center campus under construction in Armstrong County outside of Amarillo, Texas. The company linked the project to providing capacity intended to support advanced AI, tying the site’s purpose to its energy supply.

Crusoe said the campus connects to wind generation at Serena’s adjacent Goodnight 1 and Goodnight 2 wind farms. It said surplus power from the campus is supplied back to the grid when wind generation exceeds campus demand, with the stated goal of reducing curtailment of West Texas wind energy.

Crusoe described the campus as designed to use water efficiently through a closed-loop, non-evaporative liquid cooling system. The company said the system is designed to limit the facility’s water footprint primarily to domestic uses such as kitchens.

Crusoe said construction began in June 2025 and that more than 5,500 skilled laborers worked on-site daily. It said the project is part of a West Texas portfolio that also includes two campuses under development in Abilene.
