Concentric AI launches User Behavior Data Analytics to detect sensitive data activity

Concentric Artificial Intelligence (AI) has announced the launch of User Behavior Data Analytics (UBDA), a feature within its Semantic Intelligence data security governance platform. This addition enables organizations to identify abnormal user activity, such as risky sharing or excessive downloads of sensitive data.

The company has also integrated with Google Cloud Storage, Azure Data Lake, and ServiceNow, enhancing its platform's functionality for data security governance across diverse data sources.

UBDA is an industry first, allowing customers to proactively track unusual user behavior related to critical business data. The platform provides advance warnings about insider threats and safeguards sensitive data before an attack can occur. Utilizing advanced AI technology, it scans entire data records to contextualize user activity and generate risk alerts.

Karthik Krishnan, Concentric AI's Founder and CEO, stated, “Our new UBDA feature enables customers to accurately track user activity against the data that really matters to them.” He highlighted the feature's role in enhancing the platform’s value, especially in combating insider threats.

The Semantic Intelligence platform effectively discovers structured and unstructured data without needing agents or complex rules. By baselining user activities, it identifies discrepancies in how sensitive data is accessed and shared.

This functionality provides more visibility for customers regarding their data management, allowing for better classification and policy enforcement, ultimately lowering the risk of data exposure.

The UBDA feature is now available for users of the Semantic Intelligence platform, with details accessible through the company’s website.
