Citrix and NVIDIA to deliver AI virtual workstations, enabling customers to develop and securely deliver AI applications

Citrix announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to deliver Artificial Intelligence (AI) virtual workstations utilizing NVIDIA's Virtual Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) technology. This partnership aims to support enterprises in the development and prototyping of AI applications more securely and cost-effectively. The integration of Citrix DaaS with the NVIDIA RTX Virtual Workstation allows organizations to create and validate AI proofs of concept (POCs) using their current infrastructures. Enterprises can safeguard proprietary data while minimizing costs by leveraging existing GPUs. Sridhar Mullapudi, co-president at Citrix, highlighted that many organizations face challenges in completing POCs due to data security and cost concerns. With this partnership, Citrix clients can utilize their current environments to develop and deploy AI applications while protecting sensitive information. The combined offering provides several benefits, including enhanced data protection from public large language models, reduced costs associated with AI development, and improved security for users engaging with production applications. Bob Pette, vice president of Enterprise Platforms at NVIDIA, stated that the alliance facilitates the expansion of AI use cases and enhances security and productivity for clients. Citrix DaaS gives IT control over app and desktop virtualization, enabling secure access to applications and desktops across devices while offloading installation and upgrades. By integrating NVIDIA’s GPU capabilities, the solution addresses the needs of users requiring access to demanding applications from various locations without compromising system performance or security. Citrix enables enterprises to manage their touchpoints effectively while ensuring a secure user experience.
