China Mobile and ZTE win Asia Mobile Award for 5G network

China Mobile and ZTE partnered on an AI-driven green and energy-saving 5G cloudified core network project aimed at reducing energy consumption while improving network performance and operational efficiency.

The project provides operators with a replicable solution, helping them lower Operational Expenditure (OpEx) and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and achieve energy savings. The collaboration earned the pair the “Best Mobile Innovation for Climate Action in Asia” award at the Asia Mobile Awards during MWC Shanghai 2025.

This initiative emphasizes energy conservation and green transformation in the telecommunications industry. Utilizing a cloud-native architecture, the project has demonstrated effective energy efficiency optimization, leading to carbon emission reductions across various provinces in China.

Looking ahead, ZTE and China Mobile plan to further promote green technologies in network systems. They will collaborate with global partners to support sustainable development in the communications sector.
