BAE Systems launches Velhawk cybersecurity framework
BAE Systems launched Velhawk, a cybersecurity framework for government customers intended to enhance resilience, accelerate cyber response, and improve workforce efficiency.
The company said Velhawk produced a modernized cybersecurity ecosystem that enabled customers to focus on mission execution while maintaining constant vigilance against evolving threats.
Velhawk brought together Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, and adaptive analytics, which together formed a unified cyber defense architecture; the development also drew on zero-trust innovation and incorporated threat intelligence, secure data management, and rapid response capabilities under a single ecosystem.
BAE Systems said the framework automated critical detection, decision, and remediation workflows to reduce response time to cyber incidents and to decrease staffing requirements, and that its development reflected decades of cyber operations experience.
“Our customers are operating in an era where the attack surface is expanding faster than the workforce can grow,” said Peder Jungck, Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer for the Intelligence & Security sector at BAE Systems. “Velhawk gives them the advantage they need now — a way to automate defense, outpace threats, and elevate human expertise through autonomy and AI. It's not just about reacting faster, it's about predicting what comes next.”
BAE Systems said Velhawk was part of its broader mission to deliver mission-ready, future-relevant technology to customers worldwide, advancing national security through trusted innovation.
