Aviz Networks Supports NVIDIA Spectrum-X in AI Networking Solution

Aviz Networks has announced that its Open Networking Enterprise Suite (ONES) will incorporate support for NVIDIA Spectrum-X, creating an enhanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) networking solution tailored for Ethernet-based Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) cloud systems. This collaboration aims to ensure high-performance networking, essential for AI workloads, through technologies such as NVIDIA Spectrum-4 switches and BlueField-3 SuperNICs.

ONES streamlines the lifecycle management of AI networks, from initial deployment to ongoing operations. It automates network provisioning and delivers detailed telemetry for managing potential congestion, ultimately enhancing GPU utilization and operational efficiency for enterprises leveraging NVIDIA Spectrum-X.

Industry Perspectives

According to Aviz Networks' Chief Product Officer, Thomas Scheibe, the partnership allows for efficient planning and management of AI-ready network fabrics. NVIDIA’s SVP of Networking, Gilad Shainer, emphasized the importance of their platform in facilitating performance-intensive networking solutions tailored for businesses.

Challenges Addressed

The introduction of 5G technology poses various challenges, particularly around fragmented network monitoring and data management. Aviz Networks addresses these issues with its Deep Network Observability Platform (NOP) (OP), which enhances real-time insights and leverages open architecture to support mobile networks.

This solution enables telecom operators to identify network degradation swiftly and to correlate performance metrics accurately, thus promoting effective service delivery.

Highlighted Features

  • 80% reduction in the hardware footprint and energy usage associated with Deep Packet Inspection (Deep Packet Inspection (DPI)).
  • Real-time monitoring capabilities for Quality of Experience (Quality-of-Experience (QoE)) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance.
  • Reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) throughout various operational stages.
  • Enhanced interoperability with prior network structures, including 4G and 5G.

The Aviz Service Node and Open Packet Broker run on standard x86 hardware, featuring Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) acceleration, which consolidates traffic management functions to facilitate improved decision-making processes.

Keisuke Miura from Itochu Techno-Solutions Corporation stated that the collaboration has resulted in a high-performing network observability solution that integrates seamlessly with existing systems.
