Aviz Networks’ ONE Center gains Open Compute Project recognition for SONiC and AI networking

Aviz Networks reported that its ONE Center Lab received official recognition from the Open Compute Project (OCP) as an OCP Experience Center. This designation highlights the lab's role in supporting adoption of the Software for Open Networking in the Cloud (SONiC) platform.

The ONE Center Lab serves as a unified environment to test and validate multiple SONiC distributions on a variety of network switch platforms compliant with OCP community standards. This setup facilitates evaluation and operationalization of SONiC-based networking solutions at scale.

Technically, the lab integrates switches from vendors including Dell, Cisco, Edgecore, Celestica, and Wistron. It supports Broadcom Enterprise and Community SONiC distributions, interoperability with Nexus-OS, Earth Observation Satellite (EOS), and JunOS, and incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fabric tools like NVIDIA Spectrum-X with Cumulus. The facility also employs community-developed Large Language Model (LLM) (LLM)-enabled AI tools to assist automation and insight generation.

The ONE Center offers access to Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and return on investment (ROI) reports comparing various SONiC solutions across different vendors. It provides quality and performance validation reports tailored to customer configurations and enables guided tours of the lab, either virtually or in person. Additionally, the center supplies migration plans integrating SONiC with existing network operations systems, including options for AI-assisted automation. Support options range from community-level guidance to enterprise-grade Service Level Agreements (SLAs), with response times as short as 15 minutes.

George Tchaparian, CEO of the Open Compute Project, said, “The ONE Center is a key part of the OCP ecosystem and a catalyst for global SONiC adoption. By providing a real-world, community-aligned environment for SONiC validation and automation leveraging OCP Accepted™ and OCP Inspired™ network switches, the ONE Center is enabling the next generation of open, disaggregated networking at scale.” Vishal Shukla, CEO of Aviz Networks, said, “As networks evolve toward an open and AI-first future, there’s no better place to begin your SONiC journey than the OCP + Aviz ONE Center. This is where next-generation networking starts — recognized by a global community of leading companies, supported by nearly every major vendor, and built to give customers access to the best work across the SONiC ecosystem.”

The companies outlined plans to facilitate transitions from experimental deployments to scalable, AI-capable network infrastructures through the ONE Center’s resources and community engagement.
