Aviz Networks launches SONiC Express with Edgecore and EPS Global to support open networking adoption
Aviz Networks, Edgecore Networks, and Environment Provisioning Script (EPS) Global have introduced SONiC Express, a solution designed to support enterprises in adopting open networking combined with multi-cloud infrastructures and AI-driven management.
The solution aims to simplify and scale the deployment of Software for Open Networking in the Cloud (SONiC) for enterprise environments. It addresses operational needs by integrating hardware, software, and support services to facilitate open networking adoption, responding to enterprises' interest in leveraging cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) analytics for data processing.
Technically, SONiC Express includes network switches from Edgecore Networks equipped with community-validated SONiC software. These switches are preloaded with Aviz Networks’ ONES container, facilitating deployment. Aviz Networks contributes a Network Operations (NetOps) layer featuring a 30-minute Service Level Agreement (SLA), global 24×7 support, orchestration, observability, and Remote Direct Memory Access (DMA) (RDMA) over Converged Ethernet (RoCEv2)/AI fabric technologies. Its Generative AI (GenAI) (GenAI)-based Network Copilot adds automated network management capabilities.
EPS Global will provide the primary marketplace for SONiC Express, aiming to make these networking solutions accessible to a broader audience. The collaborative effort combines open-source software, network hardware, and distribution channels to address deployment and operational challenges for enterprises seeking open network frameworks.
Vishal Shukla, CEO of Aviz Networks, said, “SONiC Express will drive fast and cost-effective innovations, making open-source networking far more accessible in the enterprise. Our collaboration with Edgecore and EPS Global signifies a pivotal moment in networking, helping to reduce operational costs. This is achieved by combining Aviz's expertise in AI and NetOps with robust switching hardware and an extensive distribution network. SONiC Express is not just a product; it's a gateway to the future.” Chris Huang, Executive Vice President of Edgecore Networks, said, “At Edgecore, we seamlessly integrate with industry-leading third-party offerings to automate and validate networks, and this offering has expanded with the new collaboration with Aviz Networks and EPS Global. SONiC Express is a testament to our commitment to innovation and quality. By offering our proven SONiC network operating system solutions with Aviz's advanced NetOps capabilities and distribution through EPS Global’s expansive network, we are setting a new standard in bringing open networking solutions for enterprises.” Alan Fagan, Director of Sales North America for EPS Global, said, “We are thrilled to be the go-to marketplace for SONiC Express, bridging the gap between cutting-edge networking technology and enterprise customers. This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission to distribute next-generation networking solutions that are accessible, reliable, and ready for the challenges of tomorrow.”
The involved companies described plans to distribute and support SONiC Express with the intention of facilitating enterprise networking leveraging open source, AI integration, and multi-cloud infrastructures.
