Arista leads the Data Center Switch market in 2Q 2025, Dell'Oro Group reports.
According to a report from Dell'Oro Group, Data Center Switch sales in front-end networks grew significantly during 2Q 2025. This surge in sales resulted in record high levels, with Arista, Cisco, Huawei, and Ruijie capturing most of the increase. Arista retained its leadership position in the market.
Sameh Boujelbene, Vice President at Dell'Oro Group, noted that concerns about spending in data center front-end networks have risen as budgets shifted towards Artificial Intelligence (AI) back-end infrastructure. However, spending in front-end networks remained robust, driven by growing capacity needs in AI clusters and increased demand for public cloud services.
The major findings from the 2Q 2025 Data Center Switch – Front-end Networks Report include that Arista continues to lead the market, with front-end networks representing over two thirds of overall Ethernet data center switch sales. Additionally, sales of 100/200/400 Gbps switches accounted for more than two thirds of the front-end network market, while most 800 Gbps shipments were primarily for back-end networks.
The Dell'Oro Group's report provides detailed market and vendor-level insights, covering revenue, ports shipped, and average selling prices for Ethernet switches across a range of speeds. It includes revenue distribution by region and customer segments, including major cloud providers and large enterprises.
