Arctic Wolf debuts Cipher, an AI security assistant integrated in Aurora Platform
Arctic Wolf has unveiled Cipher, a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) security assistant designed to enhance Security Operations (SecOps). Integrated within the Arctic Wolf Aurora Platform, Cipher offers users self-guided access to deep security insights. It aims to streamline investigations, improve alert comprehension, and deliver actionable summaries, leveraging real-world analyst expertise from Arctic Wolf’s global SecOps centers.
Cipher, part of Arctic Wolf’s Alpha AI portfolio, utilizes telemetry from over 8 trillion security events weekly across various attack surfaces. This capability enables rapid threat detection and response in a complex security landscape. Cipher is designed to help organizations efficiently navigate security data, enabling faster investigations and prioritized responses.
Developed in collaboration with Anthropic, Cipher incorporates advanced Large Language Model (LLM) technology, ensuring rapid insights while maintaining data privacy and control. According to Michael Gerstenhaber, VP of product at Anthropic, Arctic Wolf's data breadth positions them to enhance SecOps effectively.
Customers can start using Cipher in beta as of April 28, 2025. The system adds a self-service option alongside existing expert guidance from Arctic Wolf's Concierge Security team.
Dan Schiappa, Arctic Wolf’s president of technology and services, emphasized that Cipher empowers security teams to operate with confidence, offering flexibility and control over security data without compromising trust or accuracy. The tool's ability to integrate with various security and IT solutions enhances its usability across different environments.
