Arctic Wolf and Anthropic partner to develop autonomous security operations center.

Strategic collaboration unites Security Operations (SecOps) expertise and frontier Artificial Intelligence (AI) research to advance safe, scalable, and autonomous security outcomes.

Arctic Wolf has announced a collaboration with Anthropic to accelerate the development of next-generation autonomous SecOps Centers (SOCs). This collaboration merges Arctic Wolf's AI capabilities in its Aurora Platform with Anthropic's AI models and expertise in building controllable AI systems.

The Arctic Wolf Aurora Platform operates on an open Extended detection and response (XDR) architecture, processing over 8 trillion security events weekly across various domains, including endpoint and cloud. The platform integrates with numerous third-party tools, offering broad visibility across enterprises.

Arctic Wolf's partnership with Anthropic seeks to leverage advanced AI to improve SecOps. Combining Arctic Wolf’s datasets with Anthropic’s large language models aims to boost automation in the SOC, enhance detection accuracy, and support responsiveness amid evolving cybersecurity threats.

The initial result of this collaboration is Cipher, an AI security assistant designed to assist customers in deriving insights from the Aurora Platform while meeting standards of safety and performance. Cipher represents a step toward realizing autonomous SOC capabilities, enhancing security teams' operational efficiency.

Dan Schiappa, president of technology and services at Arctic Wolf, stated, “To keep up with the speed and complexity of today’s cyber threats, the Autonomous SOC is no longer aspirational, it’s essential. Anthropic brings world-class AI research and a commitment to high-performing systems. When paired with Arctic Wolf’s extensive threat data and SOC expertise, we have everything needed to redefine security operations.”

Michael Gerstenhaber, VP of product at Anthropic, added, “As model capabilities increase, access to expert, domain-specific data remains the bottleneck in cyber operations. We’re proud to support Arctic Wolf's development of Cipher and excited to see how it empowers security teams with reliable intelligence for their operations.”

To explore the collaboration further and see Cipher in action, visit Arctic Wolf at the Runtime Security Agent (RSA) Conference (Booth S-549) in San Francisco from April 28 - May 1.
