Arctic Wolf, a cybersecurity and AI company, introduced new capabilities for its Aurora Superintelligence Platform at the 2026 Security Operations Summit. The additions are intended to help organizations see how AI is used across their environments, investigate issues faster, and extend protection across expanding attack surfaces.
Organizations face a growing challenge in securing AI use they cannot see. According to a report by the Cloud Security Alliance, 98% of organizations experienced unsanctioned AI use. A SANS 2026 AI Survey found that 63% of practitioners cite a lack of visibility into where AI models are used and what information they may expose. Without that visibility, security teams struggle to prioritize risk and take action.
Shadow AI Discovery is designed to identify AI tools in use across network, identity, and endpoint telemetry. It creates an inventory of AI activity, classifies each tool as sanctioned or unknown, and highlights potential data exposure risks without requiring additional deployments. The centralized inventory allows organizations to measure AI adoption trends and evaluate governance policies over time, and identified gaps can be addressed with AI-focused training through Aurora Security Awareness and Training.
Aurora Security Assistant adds skills that provide access to information from Aurora Exposure Management, Aurora Threat Intelligence, and the Security Journey. Users can ask in natural language about outstanding Security Posture In-Depth Review findings and Security Journey actions, and identify critical vulnerabilities, riskiest assets, and endpoints that failed recent vulnerability scans. The assistant draws on the Security Operations Graph to provide self-service access to security insights and operational context.
The Open Data Pipeline converts raw telemetry into security signal, and new integrations feed it from Cloudflare and Imperva web application firewalls, Veeam backup and recovery, Epic Systems EHR, Claroty xDome Healthcare, Imprivata ITDR, ExtraHop Reveal(x) 360, Datadog, Proofpoint Essentials, 1Password, Google Workspace, Trend Vision One Endpoint Security, Palo Alto Cortex, and Claroty xDome Industrial. These extend detection and active response across existing environments without replacing current technologies.
“Security teams are under pressure to move faster while managing more data, more threats, and more AI risk than ever before,” said Nick Schneider, president and chief executive officer at Arctic Wolf. Shadow AI Discovery is planned for select organizations beginning in November 2026, and timing, features, and functionality may change.
