Aqua Security launches container security risk assessment
Aqua Security has launched the Container Security Risk Assessment (CSRA), a free tool designed to analyze runtime risks in container environments. This marks the first offering of its kind, providing organizations with insights based on actual production data rather than assumptions.
The CSRA utilizes Aqua’s behavioral detection engine to assess runtime behavior and help security teams identify and prioritize risks effectively. Unlike traditional security measures that assess vulnerabilities before deployment, the CSRA focuses on real-world situations to enhance security in production environments.
“Runtime is the new battleground for cloud native threats. Our CSRA offering is designed to help organizations cut through the noise and zero in on what truly matters in production,” said Gilad Elyashar, Chief Product Officer at Aqua Security. He highlighted that this tool is available for free, allowing quick profiling of high-risk workloads without hindering development processes.
The assessment identifies anomalous behavior, misconfigurations, and threats using telemetry from Aqua’s runtime agents. Security teams receive a report featuring an executive summary, risk dashboards, a risk score ranging from 0 to 100, detailed findings, and actionable recommendations aligned with industry standards.
Key capabilities of Aqua’s CSRA include visibility into application behaviors, attention to critical events, use of threat intelligence for detecting malicious activities, and a substantial reduction in application risk through targeted remediation strategies.
This launch coincides with a reported increase in attacks on container environments, which have risen by nearly 400% in the past year. Many of these attacks exploit runtime vulnerabilities that traditional security tools cannot address.
Additionally, Aqua has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) High Authorization status, highlighting its compliance with government security requirements. The CSRA is available for immediate use and can be requested through Aqua representatives.
