Oracle Autonomous AI Lakehouse Enables Open, Interoperable Data Access Across Multi-Platform, Multicloud Environments
Oracle launched the Autonomous Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lakehouse during Oracle AI World. This platform integrates the Autonomous AI Database with Apache Iceberg, catering to customer needs for enhanced AI and analytics by eliminating analytic silos and allowing for seamless data access across different systems.
Available on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Exadata Cloud@Customer, the lakehouse is designed to support various cloud solutions without the limitation of vendor lock-in. The integration allows organizations to efficiently run analytics directly on Iceberg tables, enhancing data-related processes.
Oracle also introduced the Autonomous AI Database Catalog, which aims to unify enterprise data from multiple platforms for easier discovery and access. The Data Lake Accelerator was announced to optimize large-scale queries by dynamically adjusting computing resources, providing better resource management and performance during high-demand scenarios.
Features of the Autonomous AI Lakehouse include the Select AI Agent for natural language-to-SQL conversion and a simplified Structured Query Language (SQL) syntax for querying. Oracle emphasizes that the use of Apache Iceberg, combined with its Autonomous AI Database, offers organizations flexibility in data management while maintaining robust security and performance.
