Advantech AOM-5721 SMARC module features Qualcomm's QCS6490 SoC

Advantech launched the AOM-5721, a SMARC-based Arm Computer-on-Module designed for industrial, commercial, and medical edge applications. This module integrates the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ QCS6490 System-on-a-chip (SoC), which provides advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) processing, multimedia capabilities, and connectivity.

The Qualcomm Dragonwing QCS6490 features an 8-core Kryo Central Processing Unit (CPU) and an integrated Adreno Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), delivering up to 12 TOPS for AI functionalities. It supports various applications, including autonomous robotics and industrial automation, while maintaining power efficiency.

The AOM-5721 is compatible with systems like Yocto 4.0+, Windows 11 Internet of Things (IoT) Enterprise, Android, and Ubuntu Linux. It includes Software Development Kit (SDK) updates and supports four cameras for machine vision, ensuring reliability for developers. The module is suitable for applications requiring advanced connectivity and innovative human–machine interfaces.
