AMBA acquires Pacific Group Agencies, enhancing California presence
AMBA, a leader in affinity marketing and supplemental insurance solutions, acquired the assets of Pacific Group Agencies, Inc. (PGA), an insurance brokerage based in Santa Clarita, California. PGA specializes in serving retired public employees through established partnerships with county employee associations, notably the California Retired County Employees Association (CRCEA).
This acquisition enhances AMBA’s presence in the California public employee market, providing access to over 280,000 members. PGA’s offerings include dental, vision, life, and prepaid legal insurance, alongside health and travel benefits.
AMBA CEO Nick Taylor stated, “The acquisition of PGA significantly strengthens AMBA’s presence in the California public employee market. PGA’s mission and client base are a natural extension of AMBA’s core business.” He noted the intention to introduce new sales channels to better serve public employees.
PGA founder Stephen Pettee expressed confidence in the partnership, noting, “AMBA is the ideal partner to take PGA's legacy to the next level. This collaboration expands our capabilities and enhances the value we bring to our members and associations.”
AMBA has a history of serving retired public employees and educators, expanding into alumni and military markets. With over 400 association clients nationwide, AMBA has pursued growth through strategic acquisitions and organic performance.
The acquisition follows AMBA’s successful integration of other brokerages, including Professional Insurance Services, Inc. in Pennsylvania and EJS Insurance Services in Auburn, California. This move affirms AMBA’s commitment to providing tailored insurance solutions for public servants nationally.
