Advantech Co., Ltd. integrates Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors

Advantech said it integrated Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processors, built on Intel 18A, into its upcoming industrial-grade motherboards and Edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) computers, and said the action strengthened its collaboration with Intel and provided AI performance for a new generation of edge solutions.

The company described the processors as able to run advanced workloads at the edge, including real-time defect inspection, predictive maintenance, and intelligent monitoring, and said that running those workloads at the edge reduced cloud traffic, lowered data-transfer expenses, and improved Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

The announcement noted the processors include integrated AI acceleration up to 180 platform TOPS and built-in Intel Arc GPUs with up to 12 Xe cores, and stated graphics performance reached up to 50% faster versus previous generations, allowing some AI and vision workloads to run on a single SoC rather than requiring external GPUs.

Advantech said it paired the processors with its EdgeAI Software Development Kit (SDK), which features a Generative AI (GenAI) Studio for custom Large Language Model (LLM) development, an inference kit for embedded AI optimization, and an Orchestration Platform for fleet-wide updates; the company highlighted the AIMB-234 motherboard for real-time AI inference on endoscopic video streams, and also cited the SOM-5886 module and ARK-2252 edge computer.

Advantech and Intel said they are enabling global innovators to accelerate Edge AI adoption through an open, interoperable ecosystem for development and deployment at the edge.
