Acronis introduces Cyber Protect Local for on-premises IT environments

Acronis launched Cyber Protect Local, a solution designed for on-premises (on-prem), sovereign private cloud, and air-gapped IT environments. This offering integrates backup, recovery, cybersecurity, and endpoint management into a single platform, addressing the needs of organizations that cannot adopt cloud services. The solution aims to optimize operational efficiency while ensuring data sovereignty and regulatory compliance for mixed infrastructures.

Built on Acronis’ expertise in cyber protection, Cyber Protect Local ensures data remains within the customer’s networks, meeting strict security and compliance standards. The solution supports both legacy systems and modern virtualization platforms, including environments from Nutanix, Proxmox, VMware, and Hyper-V, allowing for comprehensive coverage across different infrastructures.

Users benefit from integrated endpoint security and management features, such as automated device discovery through Device Sense™, simplifying tooling and enhancing operational workflows. The platform enables seamless workload migration and recovery without the requirement for separate agents, boosting efficiency for IT teams.

“Despite the broad adoption of cloud-based applications, there is critical infrastructure that requires on-premises deployment and protection,” said Gaidar Magdanurov, President at Acronis. Homomorphic Encryption (HE) emphasized the vulnerability of essential systems to cyberattacks due to outdated technology. By consolidating multiple functionalities into one platform, Acronis Cyber Protect Local aims to alleviate complexity and improve productivity while reducing ownership costs for users.

This solution provides proactive, active, and reactive defense layers suitable for environments with limited or no cloud connectivity. Acronis Cyber Protect Local extends the company’s cyber protection technology into sectors requiring secure, disconnected operations.
