Acronis integrates with Intel for enhanced cybersecurity
Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud leverages Intel® Core™ Ultra processors and NPUs to boost security, performance, and efficiency for MSPs and enterprises.
Acronis, a global cybersecurity and data protection provider, collaborated with Intel to enhance Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud's availability on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Process Control System (PCS). This integration offers automated threat detection and remediation tailored for resource-constrained users, providing managed service providers (MSPs), managed security service providers (MSSPs), and enterprise customers with efficient cybersecurity options.
Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud implements AI for real-time threat detection and remediation at the endpoint, identifying advanced attacks that traditional tools may overlook. By utilizing Intel Core Ultra processors and OpenVINO™, the solution offloads extensive AI tasks from the Central Processing Unit (CPU) to the Neural Processing Unit (NPU), minimizing CPU demand by up to 92%. This optimizes system performance and extends battery life.
The SaaS-based platform provides comprehensive protection from cyberthreats through integrated solutions that encompass anti-malware, email security, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Endpoint Detection And Response (EDR) (Extended detection and response (XDR)). Acronis aligns its offerings with NIST cybersecurity functions to effectively identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from potential threats.
Gaidar Magdanurov, President at Acronis, said, “Cyber protection must be natively integrated and AI-powered to address modern cyber threats. Our collaboration with Intel empowers MSPs and corporate IT to deliver real-time security at the endpoint with minimal impact on system performance.” Carla Rodríguez, VP at Intel, stated, “By running complex security tasks on an AI PC with Intel Core Ultra processors, we enable partners like Acronis to deliver protection with lower latency and improved performance.”
This integration addresses traditional anti-malware challenges, such as diminishing configuration complexity and resource drain on systems, while elevating operational efficiency for IT teams. The combined capabilities of Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud and Intel technology present a streamlined approach to endpoint security.
