VIAVI Solutions Inc. introduces DCX 700 optical loss test set
VIAVI Solutions Inc. introduced a test set intended to reduce onboarding time and error rates in high-density fiber environments.
The company described the device as built to simplify and accelerate multifiber certification and to address evolving data center connectivity requirements.
The multifiber tester was available with native support for 12-, 16- and 24-fiber configurations, removed the need for Y-cables and complex reference steps, increased the number of certifications per shift, and employed an automated workflow that allowed one-cord referencing to simplify setup and reduce training time for technicians.
Additional features included modular adaptors to operate with current and future connectivity types and a rugged chassis with an extended-life battery for full-day use. VIAVI added the Defense Cloud Exchange (DCX) 700 to its portfolio alongside the INX 700 probe microscopes, which shared a more powerful battery system for uninterrupted, automated inspection of single and multifiber connectors and were engineered for hyperscale data centers.
“Cloud providers are scaling rapidly, with increased fiber density. As a result, the need for fast, accurate and repeatable fiber certification has never been greater,” said Kevin Oliver, Vice President and General Manager, Fiber and Access Solutions, VIAVI. “Building on our expertise as a leader in multifiber testing, the VIAVI DCX 700 addresses these needs directly, providing the most technician-friendly platform that reduces setup time, improves test consistency and adapts to the ever-evolving connectivity needs of data centers.”
The DCX 700 was scheduled to be showcased at VIAVI's booth D32 at Data Centre World London from March 4-5 and received a 4.0 score in the 2026 Lightwave Innovation Reviews.
