VIAVI Receives Award from U.S. Department of Transportation to Advance Complementary Position, Navigation, and Timing (CPNT) for Critical Infrastructure

VIAVI Solutions (NASDAQ: VIAV) received an award from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) through its Rapid Phase II of the Complementary Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (CPNT) Action Plan. The initiative allows the integration and testing of VIAVI's SecureTimeSM and SecurePNT™ 6200 resilient timing solutions at the VIAVI Automated Lab-as-a-Service for Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) (RAN) (VALOR™) and the O-RAN (RAN) Center for Integration and Deployment (ORCID) labs.

VALOR and ORCID, both funded by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) through the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund (PWSCIF), aim to enhance the resilience of Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) solutions to counteract GPS/GNSS vulnerabilities, including jamming and spoofing, which have become more prevalent in recent years.

“We are thrilled to support the DOT CPNT Action Plan and demonstrate an exciting new element of our assured PNT portfolio,” said Doug Russell, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Aerospace and Defense at VIAVI. The projects at VALOR and ORCID will facilitate data utilization to support broader adoption of CPNT services within critical infrastructure systems.
