Vertiv acquires Great Lakes Data Racks for $200M

Vertiv announced an agreement to acquire Great Lakes Data Racks & Cabinets for $200 million. This acquisition is positioned to enhance Vertiv's capabilities in high-density integrated infrastructure offerings.

The deal, valued at approximately 11.5 times expected 2026 earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), includes anticipated cost synergies. Vertiv aims to strengthen its capacity to deliver pre-engineered, AI-ready rack solutions tailored for various computing environments.

Founded in 1985 and based in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, Great Lakes manufactures a range of rack and cabinet solutions serving both retrofit and new construction projects. Vertiv's CEO, Gio Albertazzi, emphasized the strategic importance of Great Lakes’ portfolio, stating, “Great Lakes is a leading rack manufacturer with an extensive portfolio of high-end rack solutions.”

The integration is expected to streamline infrastructure sourcing and enable faster deployment of solutions. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is projected to close in the third quarter of 2025.
