Verizon Frontline Network Slice now available in select markets
Dedicated 5G UW network capacity for first responders strengthens communications for public safety.
Verizon announced the launch of the Verizon Frontline Network Slice in select U.S. markets, enhancing communication capabilities for first responders built on over 30 years of expertise.
The Verizon Frontline Network Slice is a 5G Ultra Wideband (UW) virtual network slice aimed exclusively at public safety. It allows for the allocation of network resources to benefit first responders in various ways, including:
- Dedicated 5G UW network capacity reserved for first responders, ensuring resource availability and enhanced Quality of Service (QoS).
- Tailored performance for critical applications and devices to optimize data traffic for first responders' operational needs.
- Enhanced reliability that reduces the risk of disruption to communications during high network congestion.
- Flexible scalability that allows for real-time allocation of network resources based on operational needs.
An example includes Verizon Frontline Network Slicing for Connected Vehicles, which provides improved in-vehicle connectivity allowing first responders to work effectively while on the move.
Access to dedicated 5G UW network capacity through the Verizon Frontline Network Slice supports enhanced connectivity for first responders in dense environments or during network congestion. “When every second counts, Verizon Frontline is the #1 network of choice for first responders, enabling over 40,000 public safety agencies across the nation,” stated Kyle Malady, CEO of Verizon Business. “The launch of the Verizon Frontline Network Slice underscores our commitment to supporting the specialized requirements of first responders and represents progress in public safety communications.”
