Varonis Systems integrates with AWS Security Hub

Varonis Systems announced an integration with AWS Security Hub that aimed to help security teams cut through alert noise, accelerate remediation, and protect sensitive data across AWS and the entire data estate.

The company said the integration provided enhanced visibility, automated fixes, and proactive threat detection to address the volume of alerts security teams face and the need to distinguish true threats from noise.

Varonis ingested prioritized findings from AWS Security Hub, added context on data sensitivity, identity, and user behavior, and presented a single view of risk; the release also referenced data-centric threat detection and automated remediation as parts of the offering.

The announcement described capabilities including data discovery and classification, posture and identity protection, User Behavior Analytics (UBA), blocking public access to AWS Simple Storage Service (S3) buckets, removing stale users and roles, and resolving misconfigurations such as missing password policies and encryption.

“Together with AWS, we’re making it simpler and easier to secure data in the cloud,” said David Bass, EVP of Engineering and CTO at Varonis. “By combining powerful insights and critical context on data and how it’s used, customers can quickly understand where data is at risk, remediate exposure and misconfigurations, and keep sensitive data safer.”

Varonis said it continued to expand its automated remediation capabilities for AWS, including blocking public access to AWS Simple Storage Service (S3) buckets, removing stale users and roles, and resolving critical misconfigurations such as missing password policies and encryption.
