Varonis Systems Gains Snowflake Premier Partner Status and Marketplace Listing
Varonis Systems, Inc. reported two milestones tied to its integration with Snowflake: it gained Premier Partner status and became available through the Snowflake Marketplace. The updates describe expanded ways to secure and manage access to data used in AI workflows on Snowflake environments.
The company said its integration covers AI agents, copilots, and LLMs that “read, write, and act on data” flowing through data lakes, warehouses, and other related systems. Varonis also said it is intended to help organizations manage security controls as they build and run AI on Snowflake.
Varonis for Snowflake was described as enabling organizations to discover and classify sensitive data by scanning Snowflake databases, schemas, tables, and columns. It also described mapping effective permissions by cutting through nested role inheritance to show who can reach what and right-size access. For threat detection, Varonis said it builds behavior baselines to monitor access patterns that indicate risk, including cases where an AI system accesses data it shouldn’t, with contextual alerts.
Varonis said Snowflake customers can find it on the Snowflake Marketplace and use committed capacity through the Snowflake Marketplace Capacity Drawdown (MCD) program. “Companies use Snowflake to unlock data for AI. Varonis gives them the confidence to do that safely,” said Ashi Aber, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Varonis. Rodrigo Rocha, Vice President, Global ISV & Enterprise Technology Partnerships at Snowflake, said, “Our customers are building and running critical AI workloads on Snowflake, and they need to trust the security of that data every step of the way,” and that Varonis’ premier partnership status reflects the strength of the integration and their shared commitment. Varonis also described a free Data Risk Assessment that it said shows, within 24 hours, where data lives, who can access it, and what’s putting it at risk.
