Unisys Enhances Managed Detection and Response Capabilities with Microsoft Security Copilot and Agentic AI

Companies mentioned

Unisys integrated Microsoft Security Copilot capabilities into its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution to support AI-assisted threat detection, investigation, and response. The update is intended to affect how security teams handle routine tasks and coordinate incident response across hybrid environments.

Unisys said it delivered a structured approach to operationalizing Microsoft Security Copilot, covering adoption, governance, and integration. It positioned the offering as a way to apply AI to security operations without adding complexity or risk, using AI agents to automate routine security tasks.

The enhanced MDR offering combines Microsoft security technologies with Unisys managed security expertise, delivered through the company’s global operations center. Unisys said Security Copilot works alongside Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel to provide centralized visibility across security environments, while AI-powered agents automate tasks including phishing triage, threat intelligence analysis, and elements of incident investigation and response.

Unisys described additional functionality in the enhanced MDR solution, including AI-powered alert triage and threat enrichment to strengthen incident response, bringing Defender, Sentinel, and Security Copilot into a unified operational workflow to reduce context switching, improved visibility across endpoints, identities, cloud workloads, and networks, and automated evaluation and suppression of low-risk incidents when confidence thresholds are met. “Organizations are eager to realize the benefits of AI in their security operations, but success requires more than simply deploying new technology,” said Philip Swarbrick, vice president of cybersecurity solutions at Unisys. “Effective cybersecurity relies on the right combination of technology, processes and expertise. By combining Microsoft Security Copilot with our managed security expertise, we help organizations strengthen security operations, improve visibility and respond to evolving threats with greater speed and confidence.”
