Tencent Cloud collaborates with forGIFT Inc. to enhance virtual fitting solutions in Japan's fashion industry.

Tencent Cloud announced a collaboration with forGIFT Inc. to enhance virtual fitting solutions in Japan's fashion industry. This partnership integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies into a digital workflow connecting production and retail experiences, aiming to reduce apparel sampling costs and create immersive consumer interactions.

Founded in 2017, forGIFT Inc. has worked with various fashion brands, helping to lower sampling expenses by approximately 20%. The company identified Tencent Cloud as a strategic partner to optimize its e-commerce image assets, enabling rapid outfit changes and smooth Application Programming Interface (API) integration with e-commerce platforms.

The partnership utilizes Tencent Cloud's portrait segmentation and image generation technologies, incorporating the “ChangeClothes” Virtual Try-On API into forGIFT Inc.'s 3DCG fashion sampling pipeline. This innovation enables efficient digital sample creation and personalized fitting experiences, addressing the need for more sustainable fashion processes.

Tencent Cloud's low-latency infrastructure supports interactive sessions and influencer livestreams, which respond to the increasing demand in Japan's fashion e-commerce and custom apparel sectors. Both companies expect their unified solution to provide a competitive advantage in a market that has yet to see a similarly integrated offering.

ForGIFT Inc. will lead local market efforts, including brand engagement and project showcases, while Tencent Cloud offers technical support. By 2026, forGIFT Inc. plans to extend its virtual try-on services to at least 50 Japanese fashion brands, contributing to reduced sampling costs and carbon waste.

Hanson Liu, Head of Tencent Cloud Japan, highlighted that the collaboration reflects their commitment to enhancing retail experiences. Takafumi Shirai, President of forGIFT Inc., noted the partnership pushes boundaries in digital fashion experience and consumer engagement.
