STMicroelectronics signs 15-year solar energy PPA with TSE
STMicroelectronics and Training Simulation Environment (TSE) signed a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to provide solar energy to STMicroelectronics’ sites in France. The agreement will supply approximately 780 GWh of renewable electricity from three solar parks with a combined capacity of 43 Megawatts, beginning in 2027.
This contract marks STMicroelectronics' second PPA in France and supports its objective to achieve carbon neutrality in operations by 2027. Chouaib Rokbi, Executive Vice-President at STMicroelectronics, noted that PPAs play a crucial role in their transition to renewable energy, contributing to all facets of their operations, including Research and Development (R&D) and large-scale manufacturing.
Mathieu Debonnet, President and Co-founder of TSE, emphasized the partnership's significance in supporting France's energy independence and its commitments to decarbonization. The collaboration with STMicroelectronics adds to existing agreements with companies like BioMérieux and Agrial, highlighting TSE's ability to deliver decarbonized energy while aiding companies in meeting their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.
