Spacelift launches Spacelift Intelligence with Spacelift Intent and AI assistant

Spacelift launched Spacelift Intelligence, a suite for infrastructure orchestration that adds a natural-language interface and an Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant. The company framed the update as a response to the gap between how quickly developers write and ship software and how infrastructure teams operate.

Spacelift said infrastructure demand continues while teams still need to maintain what is already deployed. It also cited a claim that developers increasingly use AI coding tools, while infrastructure delivery cycles remain measured in weeks, creating friction and pressure on platform teams.

Spacelift Intelligence is described as a natural language orchestration layer that delivers Spacelift Intent and an AI assistant. Spacelift Intent was announced in a design preview and is now in General Availability (GA), while the AI assistant extends the AI-based approach across the Spacelift platform, including natural-language interactions for deployment, environment understanding, policy management, drift handling, and troubleshooting.

Spacelift said Spacelift Intent provides a natural-language, AI-powered deployment path for rapid prototyping and experimentation, complementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and GitOps workflows rather than replacing them, and keeping IaC as the System of Record (SOR) for production. The AI assistant enables users to ask about infrastructure state, changes, and issues, use Intent to provision and manage within policy guardrails, receive AI-generated diagnostics for failed runs and change impact, and use guided onboarding.

“Developers are moving so fast that traditional Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines alone can't keep up. They were designed in an era that never contemplated the modern speed of feedback and experimentation that AI-powered development demands,” said Marcin Wyszynski, co-founder and chief Research and Development (R&D) officer at Spacelift. “The Spacelift Intent design preview taught us that teams don't just need a faster way to deploy: they need AI to help them understand, design and manage infrastructure at the speed of AI code development. That's exactly what Spacelift Intelligence delivers.” Spacelift said it planned additional AI-powered capabilities as teams adopt and expand use, and it scheduled demonstrations at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2026 in Amsterdam from March 23-26.
