Skywork launches Skywork Desktop for Windows

Skywork launched Skywork Desktop, a Windows system client designed to operate agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) workflows directly on users desktops to support sustained productivity and continuous project work.

Skywork placed the product in the emerging desktop AI agent category and positioned it as a Windows-native alternative to browser-based assistants, noting the client was intended for ongoing, file-centered work and multi-step workflows rather than one-off chat sessions.

The company described the clients core functions as local file understanding without mass uploads, semantic indexing across documents, and permission isolation. Skywork said operations Radio Access Network (RAN) inside a locally isolated Virtual Machine (VM), that the system performed core file processing on the users device, and that the client allowed dynamic model selection and multimodal outputs.

Skywork made the desktop client available for Windows and said macOS support was not yet offered; it included a curated library of more than 100 skills and noted the desktop client was unlimited for eligible subscribers. Access required a Skywork.AI membership, with pricing at $19.99 per month for the Basic plan and $49.99 per month for the Plus plan, and Skywork reported internal timing comparisons for select workflows.

“Your data never leaves, security stays with you,” said Skywork. The company said it planned to continue investing in desktop-first experiences with deeper integration into work environments, stronger organizational controls, and workflow capabilities that could scale from individual productivity to enterprise use.
